Ruby Modlin “Polly” Rudd
 
 ELON — Ruby Modlin “Polly” Rudd, 89, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Brookdale in Burlington. A native of Alamance County, she was born July 19, 1926 to the late William “Aggie” and Rose Womble Modlin and was the wife of 70 years to George David Rudd, Sr. of the home.
 
 Polly was a longtime member of Bethlehem Christian Church where she sang in the choir for over 40 years. She was recently a member of People’s Memorial Christian Church. She enjoyed playing basketball at a young age and was a member of the Shallowford Square Dancers. She was a loving wife, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
 
 Survivors include her husband of the home; sons, George D. Rudd, Jr. and wife Christine of Durham, Ronald Keith Rudd of Burlington and Denny Ray Rudd and wife Teresa of Elon; grandchildren, Stephanie Nichole Rudd, Scott Rudd and wife Alicia, James Rudd and wife Jessica, Jennifer Frank and husband Justin and Phillip Rudd and fiancé Ashleigh Dawn Hunt; great grandchildren, Dylan, Kendall and Morgan Rudd; a brother, Bobby Modlin and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Haywood, Delbert, Gene and Frankie Modlin and sisters, Barbara Grant, Jackie Ashley and Pat Ray.
 
 A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00am on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Chaplain Ebbie Murray with the burial to follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011  Washington, DC 20090-6011.
