Jerry Daniel Rudd, Sr.
July 10, 1939 ~ December 29, 2023 (age 84)
Jerry Daniel Rudd, Sr.,84, passed away December 29, 2023 at UNC hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of 49 years to Joan Hill Rudd and the son of the late Oliver Anderson Rudd and Bessie Lee Simmons Rudd.
A native of Caswell County, he was very proud to be a United States Marine Corp Veteran serving his country of 1957 to 1960. He was a Mechanic by trade owner of H &R Auto repair where he retired. Jerry loved traveling with hides wife Joan and fiends. Exploring all fifty states and many cruse destinations. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where he took on roles as a greeter and usher and helped with vacation bible school. Jerry had a serving heart always helping and praying for others weather going on mission trips with the “World Changers” helping Build and rehab homes. He had a love for woodworking, and he would make crosses to give to people all over the world to witness his faith and lead others to the lord. Jerry lived life to the fullest weather it was playing golf, spending time at Hyco Lake, working in the yard or exercising.
He is survived by his wife and son, Jerry Daniel “Danny” Rudd Jr. and his wife Elda Rudd; daughter Christine Rudd Aldridge and husband Brian Aldridge; granddaughters Brianna and Carlie Aldridge. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Doris Dabbs and Margaret Essick.
The funeral service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church by Rev. David Jackson at 2:00 pm Friday, January 5, 2024. The family will greet friends at 12:00pm to 1:45 prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Graham Memorial Park.
