Alma Clayton McKinney


BURLINGTON - Alma Clayton McKinney, 89, passed away Saturday November 24th at Liberty Commons Center. She was born January 19, 1929 in Caswell County to the late Wiley Van and Lessie Rudd Clayton and was married to the late William E. McKinney. Alma was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. She enoyed sewing, making quilts and other items. She was quite the cook and baker and loved to share her food with others. She enjoyed spending time with her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Johnny (Hilda) McKinney; a daughter Janet (Scott) Mair; grandchildren; Jason (Ragen) McKinney, Jeffrey (Alix) McKinney, Allison (Blake) Adams, Katie Mair; great grandchildren, Michael, Cooper, Eli, Wyatt, Duke McKinney; sisters, Catherine Hamlett, Arlene Massey and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; grandson, Bradley Mair; brothers, Wilbur Clayton, Thomas Clayton, James Clayton, Willie Samuel Clayton; sisters, Lena Byrd, Mamie Hinkle, Shirley Wilkins, Lizzie Walker Truitt and Doris Travis.

The funeral will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church by Elder David Underwood. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 12:30 -1:45 PM at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church prior to the service and at other times at the son Johnny’s home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
