BURLINGTON — Mr. Ralph Gary Smith , 67, of 3366M N.C. 62 North, Burlington, died suddenly at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 4:45 p.m.
A native of Yanceyville, N.C., he was the husband of Juanita M. Smith , who survives, and the son of Willie Smith and Byrd Rudd Smith , both deceased. He retired from Kayser-Roth Hosiery Mill in the Research and Development Department. He was a member of Oakview Presbyterian Church in Caswell County and a member of the Lakeview Civitan Club.
In addition to the wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Mr. Neal Smith and wife, Julie, of Burlington and Mr. Danny Smith of Burlington; three grandchildren, Michelle Capps, Josh Smith , and Chloe Smith , all of Burlington; two great-grandsons, Colby Capps and Chase Capps; three brothers, Mr. Jim Smith of Burlington, Mr. Cecil Smith of Yanceyville, and Mr. Kenneth Smith of Reidsville; and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Nixon of Yanceyville and Mrs. Brenda Wells of Danville, Va.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, George Smith , Allen Smith , Billy Smith , and Johnny Smith ; and one great-grandson, Brayden Smith
The funeral will be conducted at Oakview Presbyterian Church, Caswell County on Friday, April 21, 2006 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Bob Hillman. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Oakview Presbyterian Church from 6 to 8 this evening and at other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Oakview Presbyterian Church Building Fund, Oakview Loop Road, Yanceyville, N.C. 27379.
