Daphne Miller Bateman
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Daphne Miller Bateman , 95, formerly of 716 West Davis Street, Burlington, died at Alamance Healthcare Center on Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1:45 a.m.
A native of Guilford County, she was the wife of the late Joseph Bateman , Vaughn Wyrick, Premier S. McBane, and O. B. Watson and the daughter of Robert B. Miller and Lillian Coltrane Miller , both deceased.
She owned Daphne’s Beauty Salon in Greensboro for 45 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burlington and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Greensboro before moving to Burlington.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joan Paul and husband, Robert of Graham; two granddaughters, Mrs. Daphne Paul-Perry and husband, Brian and Mrs. Debi Seals and husband, Larry of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; five great-grandchildren, Paul M. Roberts of Graham, Peter L. Roberts of Alton, Va., William T. Vadnais of Fairfax, Va., Ramon A. Brito of Chapel Hill, and Jennifer A. Corrujo of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; one greatgreat-grandchild, Ivai Brito of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five nephews and one niece.
The funeral will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, July 2, 2006 at 2 p.m. by her nephew, William Edgar White Jr. Burial will follow the service in Green Hill Cemetery, Greensboro.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Sunday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, Mrs. Joan Paul, 605 North Main Street, Graham, N.C.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
