Mrs. Louise Kathryn Workman Lewis
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Louise Kathryn Workman Lewis , 82, formerly of Stony Creek Church Road, Elon, died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center after a short illness.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late James Preston Workman and the late Effie Jones Workman , and was married to the late Everette Paul Lewis , who died in 1987.
She was retired from Canady Wayside Furniture Company, and was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Lewis is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Karen Lewis Mayworth, and her husband, Rob; two grandsons, Everette Lewis "Rhett" Huffman and Samuel Lewis "Sam" Huffman; two stepgrandchildren, Breyanna Lynne Mayworth and Matthew Taylor Mayworth; and her sister, Mrs. Ann Workman Wrenn, all of Elon.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Walter Eugene "Gene" Lewis ; and brother, James Elmer Workman .
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2005, at Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Dawson, the Rev. Dian Jackson, and the Rev. Bland Leebrick. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the daughter’s home, 4005 Stony Creek Church Road, Elon.
