OBITUARIES Mrs. Dehlia Bailey Willoughby 

    McLEANSVILLE — Mrs. Dehlia Bailey Willoughby , 82, of 6822 River Track Road, McLeansville, went to meet her Lord and Savior Wednesday evening, June 15, 2005, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several months of declining health.

    After 32 years of service she retired from Rose’s Department Stores. She later worked as a private caregiver in the McLeansville community until her recent illness. Dehlia  was a member of Apple’s Chapel Christian Church and was well loved throughout the community. She was cared for and supported by her church family and surrounding community. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her husbands Roy Clayton and Johnny R. Willoughby ; and her sister Lillie Mae Bailey .

She was a native of Guilford County, and the daughter of the late Florence Loman Bailey  and the late Walter Bailey .

    She is survived by her brother James Elbert Bailey  and his wife, Christine Whitesell Bailey , of Burlington; nephews, Raymond E. Bailey  and wife, Glenda B. Bailey , of Elon, and Ricky L. Bailey  and his wife, Janet H. Bailey , of Burlington; and two great-nieces and two greatnephews.

    The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, at Apple’s Chapel Christian Church by the Rev. C. Allen Myers III, and the Rev. Jess Montegudo. Visitation with the family will precede the service beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    Dehlia  leaves a legacy of self-sacrifice and service to others. The family would like to say "thank you" to all of God’s angels that have extended care and love to Dehlia . Memorials may be made to Apple’s Chapel Christian Church, 7345 N.C. 61 North, Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.
