Effie Walker Troxler
GIBSONVILLE — Effie Walker Troxler, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Alamance Health Care.
A native of Rockingham County, she was born March 24, 1927 to the late Joseph Andrew and Virginia Ware Walker and was the wife of the late James Edward Troxler.
Effie was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the Women’s Sunday School class. She was a bus driver for the special needs for the Alamance Burlington School System and was the former owner of Troxler Jug House Lake.
She is survived by her daughter, LuAnn Troxler Smith and husband Jeff of Connelly Springs; sons, Larry D. Troxler and wife Linda and Eric Jesse Troxler, all of Gibsonville; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons, Eddie Ronald Troxler and James Michael Troxler; sisters, Emma Robertson, Vernie Harrison, Maude Tate and Mary Lucille Wilson; and brothers, Lloyd Walker, Henry Walker, Richard Walker, Edward Walker and Clyde Walker.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Shiloh United Methodist Church by the Rev. Judson Dunlap with the burial to follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. and at other times at her son, Larry’s home.
