GIBSONVILLE — Lester Leon Foster Sr. 80, of 202 Faith Dr. passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mr. Foster was born August 7, 1930 in Cleveland County to the late Curtis M. and Mabel M. Foster. He retired after 34 years of service from Engineered Plastics Inc. “EPI” in Gibsonville, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of Bethlehem Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years Peggie Simpson Foster of the home; his daughter, Beverly and her fiancé’, Tom Willard of Burlington; a son, Lester Leon “Kip” Foster, Jr. and his wife, Maria of Fredericksburg, Va., grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Foster, Lydia Joyce Foster, Myranda Desiree Willard, and Zackary Thomas Willard; sister-in-laws, Betty S. Boone, Iris S. Workman, Lois T. Simpson, and Alice B. Simpson; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Grubbs and Rev. William Sharpe officiating.
The burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday evening and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Tuesday morning at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to the Abbey Glen Flag Fund, 317 Faith Dr. Gibsonville, NC 27249.
