William "Bill" Earl Brintle
ELON - William "Bill" Earl Brintle, 87, died Monday, December 11, 2017. He was born August 16, 1930, in Caswell, NC, son of late Esther Tate Brintle and Boyd Earl Brintle.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brintle is preceded in death by his first wife of over 50 years, Rachel McPherson Brintle.
Mr. Brintle served in the United States Marine Corp. from May 1, 1952, to April 30, 1954. He retired from Glen Raven Mills, where he was a supervisor for many years. Along with serving as a member of the Cherry Grove Ruritan club, Mr. Brintle also served many years on the Cemetery and Grounds Committee of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are his daughter Donna Brintle (James Guy) Somers of Elon, NC; his two grandchildren, Jamie (Charles) McGovern and Shandi (David) Stalnaker; and his four greatgrandchildren, Jacob Stalnaker, Shalyn Stalnaker, Kacie McGovern, and Rylie McGovern. He is also survived by his second wife, Nellie Robertson of Burlington, NC.
The family will receive family and friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017, at the Harrelson Funeral Services Chapel and other times at the home of his granddaughter, Jamie McGovern 494 Pagetown Rd., Elon, NC 27244.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 14, 2017, by Rev. Gaylord Dix at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
