urlington, North Carolina Daily Times News August 17, 1944: Pfc. Harold Donald McPherson, son of Mrs. Hattie R. McPherson of Snow Camp and the late H.D. McPherson was reported killed in action in France on June 22, according to a message to his mother from the War Department.
He entered the service on Oct. 2, 1944 and received his boot training at Camp Wheeling, Ga. Later he was sent to Camp Gordon, Ga.
He has been overseas since January of this year. Sergeant son of Mrs. Hattie McPherson of Route 2, Snow Camp
was killed in action in France on June 22, 1944.
Sgt. McPherson was inducted in October 1941 and was employed at the Belmont division of Burlington Mills before entering the service. In addition to his mother, he is survived by 4 brothers, Boyd Lynn and Raymond McPherson of Snow Camp, Jack McPherson of Graham, and William McPherson of Burlington and 3 sisters.
