OBITUARIES Carolyn Simpson Lupo
SELMA — Carolyn Simpson Lupo , age 73, formerly of Central Ave., Burlington, died Tuesday, February 15, 2005, at the home of her daughter in Selma following a life-long battle with rheumatoid arthritis since the age of 18.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late James V. and Beulah Mary Matkins Simpson .
She had been employed by Western Electric and later was employed as assistant secretary at Southern Alamance High School for 14 years. She was a graduate of Burlington High School and was a very active member for 25 years of Hillside Presbyterian Church, formerly Christ Church.
Mrs. Lupo is survived by her daughter, C. Lynne Lupo Brown and husband, Jeffrey, of Selma; son, Douglas R. Lupo and wife, Lillian, of Burlington; five grandchildren, Christopher Lupo , Christina Lupo , Savannah Lupo , Leanne Brown and Ashley Brown; brother, William T. Simpson and wife, Molly, of Burlington; sister, Mary Elizabeth Fearing who is wife of the late M. K. Fearing Jr. of Manteo. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, BettyAnn Simpson .
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Hillside Presbyterian Church, formerly Christ Church, by the Rev. Bill Price, and the Rev. Bryan Crotts. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service, and also following the service.
