Mr. Richard Glen McIntyre 
    BURLINGTON — Mr. Richard Glen McIntyre , 73, of 401 Trail One, died at 7:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at his residence after a serious illness of four months.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Patricia Driver McIntyre , who survives, and the son of the late Ralph Graves McIntyre  and Flossie Phillips McIntyre . He was a former member of the Burlington Fire Department, Adjunct instructor at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Md. He was a member of Grove Park Baptist Church and the Reliable Sunday school class. He was a graduate of Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Okla., charter member of the N.C. Society of Fire Service Instructors, and was a U.S. Army veteran.
    Survivors other than his wife of the home include a daughter, Mrs. Pamela Schuckies and husband, Warren, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Mr. Rick D. McIntyre  and wife, Debbie, of Jacksonville, N.C. and Mr. Randall G. McIntyre  and wife, Michele of Burlington; two sisters, Mrs. Linda Thomas and Mrs. Joan Barbee, both of Burlington; three brothers, Mr. Ralph McIntyre  and Mr. Donald McIntyre , both of Burlington and Mr. Howard McIntyre  of Graham; six grandchildren, Luke and Chance McIntyre  of Jacksonville, N.C., Erica and Scott Schuckies of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Casey and Caleb McIntyre  of Burlington; and two stepgrandchildren, Brandon and Christine Duckworth of Burlington.
    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. France Covington and Mrs. Kathleen Birchett.
    The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 26, 2004, at Grove Park Baptist Church by Dr. Eugene Hunsinger, and Mr. Bill Vickrey. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
    The family will be at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and at other times at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to Grove Park Baptist Church, 108 Trail One, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
