Sister Passes
In Greensboro
Funeral services for Mrs. V. L. Wyant, 65, of Greensboro, who was the sister of Dr. Frank Gilliam of Burlington, were conducted at 11 o’clock this morning at Forbis and Murray Chapel at Greensboro, with Elder Posey Ingram of Martinsville, Va., officiating.
Mrs. Wyant, a native of Alamance County, died at 6:30 o’clock yesterday morning at a Greensboro hospital following a long illness.
She had lived in Greensboro for 34 years and was a member of Gilliam Primitive Baptist Church. She also held membership in the Woman’s Club, Euterpe Club, Exchangette Club, Rose Garden Club, United Daughters of the Confederacy, Daughter of the American Revolution and Colonial Dames of America.
Surviving, in addition to her brother here, are the husband; one son, V. L. Wyant, Jr., of Greensboro; four other brothers, Elder John Gilliam of Elon College, R. L. Gilliam of Statesville, E. L. Gilliam of Greensboro and Paul D. Gilliam of Charlotte; and two sisters, Mrs. Eva Matkins of Haw River and Mrs. Grace Bernard of Elizabeth, N. J.
Graveside rites for Mrs. Wyant will be held at 2 o’clock tomorrow afternoon at Elk Run Cemetery, Elkton, Va.
