Richard Frank Westbrook
BURLINGTON — Mr. Richard Frank Westbrook, 87, of Burlington died at his residence on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 1:05 p.m.
A native of Wayne County, he was the husband of the late Helen Potts Westbrook and the son of Luther Westbrook and Nora Britt Westbrook, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. After his retirement, he enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty W. Holyfield and husband Jerry and Anna W. Hensley and husband Tony, all of Elon; two sons, Don Westbrook and wife Linda and RonnieWestbrook and wife Deborah, all of Burlington; one sister, Estelle Griffin of Salisbury; one brother, Odell Westbrook of Gibsonville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Mark Mofield with the family receiving friends from 1 to 2:15 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance County, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell and also to Michele Cortes and Latoya “Cookie” Kidd for the kindnesses shown to Mr. Westbrook.
