Harold Gene Pruitt

YANCEYVILLE — Harold Gene Pruitt , 62, of 508 Main St., Yanceyville, N.C., died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at his residence following declining health in recent months.
Mr. Pruitt was born August 17, 1943, in Danville, Va., the son of the late Joe Pruitt and Sallie Barker Pruitt . He was retired and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Pruitt is survived by a daughter, Tammy P. Somers of Cherry Grove, N.C.; a son, Jody Gene Pruitt of Eden, N.C.; four sisters, Edith Davis of Yanceyville, Dean Massey of Danville, Va., Jane Soloman of Yanceyville, and Elizabeth Fuqua of West Yanceyville; four grandchildren, Justin Somers, Kelly Somers, Kaley Somers, and Savannah Pruitt .
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Yanceyville United Methodist Church cemetery, with Wayne Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends at Marley Funeral Home in Yanceyville from 7 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times the family will be at the home of his sister, Jane and Tom Soloman, 508 Main St., Yanceyville, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
