REIDSVILLE — Walter Franklin Page , 76, of 6642 Cherry Grove Road, died on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at the Hospice Home of Alamance-Caswell.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2005, at Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.
Mr. Page was born in Caswell County, to the late Oakus Franklin Page and Betty Sue Somers Page . He was a corporal in the U.S. Army 45th Division, driving an ammunition truck during the Korean War. He trained and received leadership training at Camp Chaffee in Arkansas. Walter was a farmer and worked with Associated Transport in Burlington, Pilot Trucking Company, and later retired from Miller Container Division with 14 years of service. He was a member of Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church, the DAV Chapter 28, American Legion Post 89, and the Cherry Grove Ruritan Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Venona Page .
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Gann Page of the home; sons, Ronald Page and wife, René, of Burlington, Roger Page and wife, Loren, of Elon; daughters, Cindy Johnson and husband, Lou, of Lakewood, Colo., Ann Page Patterson and husband, Johnny, of Reidsville, Lynette Page of Burlington; grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley Page , Nick Furman, Will and Ben Page , Anna and Jacob Patterson; sisters, Leona Aldridge of Burlington, Barbara Saunders of Reidsville.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral home from 6 to 8 this evening, and at other times the family will be at the residence.
