BURLINGTON - Beatrice Burton Hornaday, 92 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2022. She was the wife of the late Lewis Soloman Hornaday, Jr. and the daughter of the late LesterHassell and Elizabeth Bradsher Burton.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday March 3, 2022 at 11:00am at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45am prior to the service. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, NC.

Beatrice “Bea” Burton Hornaday
BURLINGTON - Beatrice“ Bea”BurtonHornaday, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Hospice Home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Lewis Soloman Hornaday, Jr. and the daughter of the late Lester Hassell and Elizabeth Bradsher Burton.
Bea retired from Peoples Security Insurance Company after 30 years of service. She attended Ireland Street Chapel along with her husband for many years. Bea graduated from Anderson High School and later attended Kings Business college. Bea along with her husband, Lewis enjoyed researching genealogies. They also published four volumes of Piedmont, NC Quaker Cemetery Records. Cemeteries include Cane Creek, Rocky River Springs, Eno and South Fork, Chatham, Plainfield, Providence, Salem and Concord. They also published two volumes of family records.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Betty Burton; nephews, KevinHornaday, John Burton, Jack Burton (Susan); nieces, Deborah Todd, Linda Winn (Keith), Barbara Sessoms (Terry) and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers, Lester Bradsher Burton, Floyd Hassell Burton, Chester Burton and Julian C. Burton; sister, Katherine“Kat” Burton and nephews, Ronnie Lester Burton and Jay C. Burton.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00am at Lowe FuneralHome Chapel by Wayne Jones. The family will receive friends from 9:45-10:45am prior to the service. The burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Liberty, NC.
