Ralph Curry Baker, age 91, of Burlington went peacefully to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Friday, April 26, 2024.
A native of Caswell County, NC, he was the husband of Grace Oakley Baker, who survives and the son of John Calvin Baker and Abbie Lee King Baker, both deceased. He retired after 50 years of service with Monarch Hosiery Mill as a machinist. He was a member of Ireland Street Chapel.
He and his wife of 71 years together enjoyed taking trips with their friends from Ireland Street Chapel.
He also enjoyed farming and raising a garden and spending time at the farm with his brothers. His family time was precious to him, especially spending wonderful times with his wife and children and his grandsons.
In addition to his wife of their home, survivors include two daughters, Vickie Baker Baynes of Burlington and Donna Baker James (Terry) of High Point; one son, Mike Baker and wife Libby of Burlington; two grandsons, Curry Baker (Natalie) and Grey Baker and wife Katie; and three brothers, John Abner Baker of Burlington, Lewis Baker of Mebane, and Sidney Eugene Baker of Ridgeway, VA. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ella Virginia Baker.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. by Wayne Jones. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
