Mary Lois Oakley
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Mary Lois Oakley, 83, died at Edgewood Place on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, at 10:23 a.m.
A native of Caswell County, she was the wife of Thurman Boston Oakley, who survives, and the daughter of Rufus McKinney and Pearl Bryant McKinney, both deceased. She was a homemaker, loving mother and grandmother and loved to travel. She was a former member of Brookwood Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include a daughter, Diane Ector and husband Randy of Burlington; two grandchildren, Melissa Ector of Burlington and Randy Ector Jr. and wife Stephanie of Gibsonville; two greatgrandchildren, Madison Russell and McKinley Russell; three brothers, Roy McKinney, Donnie McKinney and Willard McKinney, all of Burlington; and two sisters, Annie Ruth Rice and Ruby Talley, both of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse McKinney,
Robert McKinney and the Rev. James McKinney; and two sisters, Luna Mae Thomas and Jean Matherly.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Gary Gates and the Rev. Jeff Knudson. Burial will follow in Bush Arbor Primitive Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
