OBITUARIES Annie Mae Smith Somers
ELON — Annie Mae Smith Somers , 69, formerly of 2237 Boone Road, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Somers was born in Stokes County to the late Paul L. and Ida Massey Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the WMU. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Stewart; a brother, James V. Smith; and granddaughters, Amanda Somers and April Dawn Somers .
She is survived by her husband, Edgar T. Somers of the home; daughters, Judy Somers of Reidsville and Patricia Stein of Snow Camp; sons, Thomas Somers of Elon, Jimmy Somers of Eden, and Roger Somers of Reidsville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, William Ernest Smith of Reidsville and Paul Winfred Smith of Eden.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Service Inc. in Reidsville from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance County, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27216.
