OBITUARIES Annie Mae Smith Somers
ELON — Annie Mae Smith Somers , 69, formerly of 2237 Boone Road, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at the Hospice Home in Burlington.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Trinity Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Somers was born in Stokes County to the late Paul L. and Ida Massey Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church and the WMU. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Stewart; a brother, James V. Smith; and granddaughters, Amanda Somers and April Dawn Somers .
She is survived by her husband, Edgar T. Somers of the home; daughters, Judy Somers of Reidsville and Patricia Stein of Snow Camp; sons, Thomas Somers of Elon, Jimmy Somers of Eden, and Roger Somers of Reidsville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, William Ernest Smith of Reidsville and Paul Winfred Smith of Eden.
The family will receive friends at Wilkerson Funeral Service Inc. in Reidsville from 6:30 to 8:30 this evening, and at other times at the residence.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance County, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27216.

REIDSVILLE — Edgar Thomas Somers, 79, of 149 Owens Road, died on Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at Avante at Reidsville.
A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012 at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gaylord Dix officiating. Military rites will be performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.
Mr. Somers was born in Caswell County to the late Euel and Effie Page Somers and was a truck driver. He was a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of The United States Air Force.
Inadditiontohisparents,he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Smith Somers; and his granddaughter .
Survivors include his sons, Thomas Somers and wife Debbie of Elon, James Somers of Reidsville and Roger Somers of Elon; daughters, Judy Somers and Patricia Stein, both of Reidsville; five grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and sister, Virginia Enoch of Elon.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church.
