Obituary Online notes for Daniel M. COBLE
Research provides that he was the son of Sarah Bennitt and Peter Coble.

He married Martha Jobe on 18 Oct 1859 in Guilford County, NC, and five children were born of that union.

Research also provides that Daniel M. Coble enlisted in Company B, North Carolina 45th Infantry Regiment on 1 Oct 1862 at Drewry’s Bluff, Virginia. The Company Muster Rolls reflect that he was captured near Spotsylvania Courthouse, Virginia, on 10 May 1864. He was transferred to Elmira, New York, via Point Lookout, Maryland, on 3 Aug 1864, arriving at Elmira Prisoner of War compound on 29 Oct 1864.

He received a Prisoner of War Parole dated at Greensboro, N.C., on 16 May 1865.

Following is obituary from the Greensboro Daily News, dated 18 March 1911:

Dan Coble, more than 70 years of age, died suddenly yesterday morning at his home in Greene township from heart failure.

Mr. Coble was found in about half an hour after he left the house, and when discovered, his body was in a hog pen.

A cut in his head led some to suspicion foul play, but Coroner Wood, investigating the conditions felt that an inquest was unnecessary.
