Margaret Robertson King
   BURLINGTON — Mrs. Margaret Robertson King, 85, formerly of Union Ridge Road, Burlington, died at the Village at Brookwood on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 9:50 a.m. following several years of failing health.

   Growing up Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Albert Blaylock and Florence Josephine Robertson, both deceased.

   She was married to William Lewis King, deceased, in 1946 and moved with him to the Anderson Community in Caswell County, where they resided until their move to The Village at Brookwood in 2004. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was active with the Women’s Fellowship. Employed by Gilliam & Moore, CPA’s during the 1950’s, she later retired from the business office at Kernodle Clinic after 20 years of service.

   Survivors include her daughter, Marie King Crissman and husband Mark of Burlington; grandchildren, Margaret Wilkins Strader and husband Challey of Greensboro, Anna Marie Wilkins Cross and husband David of Blacksburg, Va., Jefferson Davis Wilkins III of Raleigh; greatgrandchild, Margaret Strader of Greensboro; sisters, Louise R. Gilliam and Laura Lee R. Shreve, both of Reidsville; and brothers, Marion P. Robertson and Willard Robertson, both of Reidsville, and Joe Robertson of Rock Hill, S.C.

   She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert B. Robertson Jr. and Paul Robertson.

   The funeral service will be conducted at Bethel Christian Church on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Barry Lane. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

   The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of the daughter, Marie Crissman, 211 Shelburne Court, Burlington, N.C.
