JULIAN, N.C. — Marie Fogleman Jordan, 74, of Julian passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 at Wesley Long Hospital.
Marie was a 1955 graduate of Sylvan High School and earned her nursing degree from Watts School of Nursing in 1958. She retired as a neurological nurse from Moses Cone Hospital after 35 years of service. She was a faithful member and the pianist of Liberty Friends Meeting.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Friends Meeting officiated by Janice M. Greene and Dale Matthews. The family will receive friends following the service and at other times at the home.
She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Andrew Fogleman and was also preceded in death by one son, Alton Howard Jordan and one brother, George Fogleman.
Marie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Arthur L. “Art” Jordan; two sons, Jeffrey Lee Jordan (Debbie) of Staley and Gregory Lynn Jordan (Catalina) of Oak Island, N.C.; five grandchildren, Madison, Trevor, McKenzie, Jacob and Alex; one sister and three brothers.
In lieu of traditional remembrances memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Friends Meeting, P.O. Box 1153, Liberty, N.C. 27298.
