Mary Lassiter Bowman
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Mary Lassiter Bowman, 86, of White Oak Manor, 323 Baldwin Road, Burlington died at the Hospice Home in Burlington on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 2:40 a.m.
A native of Johnston County, she was the wife of the late Jesse Daniel “J.D.” Bowman and the daughter of Alfred Lassiter and Swannie King Lassiter, both deceased. She was a homemaker and of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Todd of Cancun, Mexico, Dare B. Whitfield and husband Dwight of Haw River and Eunice Dale Sorrell and husband Kent of Burgaw; three sons, Daniel Patterson Bowman and wife Rena of Alamance, Emmitt Leslie Bowman of Burgaw and Alfred Gene Bowman of Alamance; six beloved sisters; five beloved brothers; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Randy J. Bowman and Laurie Ray Bowman.
A graveside service will be conducted at McCray Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery on Friday, December 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. John Chick.
Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
