Mrs. Mable Summers Austin 
    RUFFIN — Mrs. Mable Summers Austin , 80, of 1044 Guerrant Spring Road, died Wednesday, December 29, 2004, at Morehead Hospital in Eden. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of Norman Thomas Austin , Sr., who survives.
    Mable  was a homemaker and enjoyed growing plants and operating her own nursery business for several years. She is survived by her husband, Norman Thomas Austin , Sr. of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Norman Thomas Austin , Jr. and his wife, Kelly, of Eden; daughters and sons-in-law, Marie and Barry Martin of Eden and Carolyn and Joe Gibson of Ringgold, Virginia; grandchildren, Butch Martin, Norman Thomas Austin  III, Erica Reece and Steven Conrad; greatgrandchildren, Adrianna Austin , Seth Conrad, Lexie and Austin  Doggett; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and William Howard Webster of Elon; and brothers and sister-in-law, Henry G. Summers  and Bernice Lee and Betty Ann Summers , both of Burlington.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph William and Lessie Elizabeth Murray Summers ; sisters, Thelma Smith, Mildred Nadine Summers , Mozelle Garland and Willie Summers  Perrotta; brothers, Joseph James "Buster" Summers , Joseph William Summers  Jr. and Ervin Clyde Summers .
    The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 31, 2004, at 4:00 p.m. at the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Elder William Howard Webster and the Rev. Jerry T. Smith. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of the sister, Jean Webster, 709 Wagoner Drive, Elon.
