William Howard Webster

October 16, 1928 ~ December 28, 2019 (age 91)

Elon-William Howard Webster, 91, passed from this life on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at his home. He was a native of Caswell County and the husband of the late Jean Somers Webster. He was the son of the late Jasper Lee and Elizabeth Susan Powell Webster.
   Howard retired from IBM after 24 and half years and also later retired from the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 1st Burlington Ward as the custodian after 20 years. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during peacetime. He was a longtime member of the Church OF Jesus Christ LDS 1st Burlington Ward where he served as Bishop for 7 years and Boy Scout Chairman and cubmaster for over 17 years. Howard served as a High Priest of the State Council and President of the State Young Men’s. He was a member of the Alamance County Beautification Commission under the direction of the Alamance County Board of Commissioners. Howard enjoyed history and specialized in Genealogy helping many families with their family tress.
    Survivors include his sons, Don C. Webster of Phoenix, Neil A. Webster and wife, Debra of California and Tim A. Webster and wife, Michele of Burlington; grandchildren, Chris Webster, Clay (Jennifer)  Webster, Sr., Orion Webster, Azrael Webster and Jacob Webster-Hulbert; great grandchildren, Clay Webster Jr. and Tessa Webster: sister, Helen Dacey of Summerset, Massachutes.
   He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; brothers, Arthur, Spencer and Claude Webster; sisters, Dora Carmichael and Vivian Fuller.
   A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 11;00am at The Church of Latte Day Saints 1st Burlington Ward by Bishop John Ison and burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the residence.
