Mildred Summers Mabe Williams
GIBSONVILLE — Mildred Summers Mabe Williams , 80, of 1110 E. Joyner St., passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at White Oak Manor.
She was the wife of L.M. "Mack" Williams , and the daughter of the late K. Loftin and Effie Wyrick Summers.
Mildred was a native of Guilford County and retired from Dixie Belle.
She was a member of Evangelical Methodist Church, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of the choir and the secretary and treasurer of the Evangelical Methodist Women.
Survivors include her husband of the home; daughters, Janie Barker and her husband, Steve, of Gibsonville, Linda Hogan and her husband, Rudy, of Gibsonville; a son, Dennis Williams and his wife, Jo Ann, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Andrea (Rodney) Garrison, Jamie (Jodi) Hogan, Jeff (Summer ) Hogan; great-grandchildren, Hayden Garrison, Trinity Hogan, A.J. Hogan; brothers, Shelton Summers of Burlington, Howard Summers of Charlotte and Johnny Summers of Gibsonville.
She was preceded in death by a husband Nathaniel Junior Mabe ; two sisters and a brother.
The celebration of her life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, which would have been her 47th wedding anniversary, at Evangelical Methodist Church by the Rev. Paul Speagle, and the Rev. Hobart Isley. Interment will follow in Frieden’s Lutheran Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., and at other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Evangelical Methodist Church Building Fund, 407 Bethel St., Gibsonville, N.C. 27249.

Lorenza “Mack” Williams, affectionately known as PopPop, 98, of Gibsonville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022.
Mack was born June 8, 1924, in Guilford County to Harrison Hanford Williams, and Allie Roupe Williams.
He worked for A&P Supermarket as a Produce Manager for 38 years. After retirement, he managed Ken’s Quickie Mart for years and later could be found volunteering at Jack’s BBQ. He was well loved by his family and community and never met a stranger. Mack was a devoted member of Evangelical Methodist Church in Gibsonville, where he served in numerous ways, including being Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He continued to drive himself to church every Sunday morning until recent months when he became ill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Mildred Summers Williams, son-in-law, Steve Barker, sister, Helen Williams Scott, and brothers, Harry Williams, Jr., Paul Williams and Kenneth Williams.
He is survived by his daughters, Janie Barker and Linda Hogan and husband Rudy; son, Dennis Williams and wife Jo Ann; grandchildren, Andrea Garrison and husband Rodney, Jamie Hogan and wife Jodi, and Jeff Hogan and wife Kelly; great-grandchildren, Hayden Garrison and wife Kensley, Trinity Hogan, A.J. Hogan, Alex Hogan and Bailey Hogan.
