Mary Satterfield Cobb
ELON, N.C. — Mary Satterfield Cobb, age 81, formerly of Church Street in Altamahaw, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 8, 2010. She was a native of Alamance County and the wife of the late Rev. William Henry Cobb.
Mary retired after 30 years with Monarch Hosiery Mill and was a member of Altamahaw Baptist Church. She served the Lord for over 20 years as the church pianist for Victory Baptist Church. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her sons, Keith Cobb and his wife Pat of Gibsonville, Jimmy Cobb and his wife Karen of Burlington; grandchildren, Lisa Warren, Jennifer Gwynn, Jami Cobb, Brian Cobb, Karri Melton, Billy Lemons and Shane Culler; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Lelia Johnson of McLeansville; brothers, Woodrow Satterfield of Reidsville and Henry Satterfield of Gibsonville.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents, William Arthur and Callie Mae Smithey Satterfield; sisters, Juanita Baldwin and Naomi Matkins.
The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, September 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Altamahaw Baptist Church by Dr. Steve Tucker and the burial will follow at Bethlehem Christian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home of her son, Jimmy Cobb, 1761 Gerringer Mill Road, Burlington, N.C.
