Mr. Richard Clifton Bowman
LIBERTY — Mr. Richard Clifton Bowman , 81, of 3115A Way Road, died Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 8 a.m. at White Oak Manor after three years of declining health.
Born in Alamance County, he was the husband of Mrs. Betty Richardson Bowman and the son of the late Lawrence Lee Bowman and Callie Clapp Bowman . He was a retired livestock dealer and a member of the Mr. Pleasant United Methodist Church.
Survivors other than his wife of the home include two daughters, Mrs. Glenda B. LaPine and husband, Wayne of Asheboro and Mrs. Ella B. Hagin and husband, B.J. of Liberty; two sons, Mr. Harry L. Bowman and wife, Linda and Mr. Richard B. "Dicky" Bowman and wife, Betty, both of Graham; two brothers, Mr. Donald C. Bowman of Wallace, N.C. and Mr. Van Bowman of Burlington; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Terrell of Burlington; seven grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; and eight stepgrandchildren.
He was predeceased by one son, Mr. Tommy C. Bowman .
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m Monday at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery by the Rev. Steve Joyce.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 2 to 4 p.m. today and at other times at the residence of a son, Dicky Bowman , 1028 Davis Lane in Graham.
