Willie Worth Brown, 89, of Brown Summit, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at New Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Harold Venable and Rev. Mike Chrismon officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park.
Willie was born on May 12, 1926, in Guilford County, to the late Frank E. and Ollie Jones Brown. He served in the U.S. Army as a Sgt. 1st Class during the Korean War. He was married to Thelma Pickrell Brown for 63 years. He worked for Burlington Industries for 30 years and later retired from Southern Mechanical after 25 years.
Mr. Brown was a Deacon at New Heights Baptist Church. He loved his church and loved the Lord; he was always there when the doors were open. He loved to be outdoors working in his garden, taking cares of his flowers and fruit trees. He also loved to fish and hunt. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Jack and Clyde Brown.
