BURLINGTON — Mr. Brodie Banks King Sr., 87, of 2404 Blanche Drive, died Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington.
A native of Caswell County, Mr. King was the husband of the late Helen Thomas King and the son of the late James William King and the late Minnie Loyd Oakley King.
Mr. King was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II. He retired from Glen RavenMillsandwasamember of Northside Baptist Church.
Mr. King is survived by his son, Brodie Banks King Jr., of Yanceyville; a step-daughter, Patsy K. Willis of Burlington; a step-grandson, Kyle Willis; two sisters, Dollie K. Garrison of Yanceyville, and Sue Harris and her husband Wilbert, of Mebane; two brothers, Joseph D. King and his wife Juanita, of Burlington, and Billy King and his wife Lib, of Burlington.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. King was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Powell; and his brothers, James King, Wilson King, Alvis King, Leonard King and Jones King.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2010, in the Chapel of Rich and Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Dale O. Steele. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary, Sunday, May 30, 2010, from 6 to 8 pm.
