Born in Princess Anne County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Henry Clay Atwood and the late Margaret Ann Capps Atwood and was married for over 54 years to the late Lt. Col. Joseph Bernard Rickman, who passed in 2005. She was a career military wife and a secretary in the Insurance Industry and was a member of Springwood Presbyterian Church. Rickman II and wife, Susan; Patricia Sawyer and husband, Paul; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter, Michele Komatz; a grandson, Ethan Brister; three sisters; and a brother.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at Arlington National Cemetery Chapel, where she will be buried with her husband, at a later date.
