Hattie “Lois” Caulder Byrd, age 88, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her residence.

Hattie “Lois” Caulder Byrd, 88, of Burlington, passed away on Wednesday, 9/30/2020, at her residence.
A native of Scotland County, she was the wife of the late Walter Thomas Byrd and the daughter of Alonzo Caulder and Hattie Threadgill Caulder, both deceased. She was retired from J.P. Stevens and Company.
Lois is survived by a daughter, Beverly L. Byrd, of Burlington; a sister, Margaret Brown and her husband, Russell, of Bennett, NC; along with several nieces and nephews and her constant companion, Luci. She was preceded in death by her son, Walter Thomas Byrd, Jr. and her brothers, Hilburn Caulder, A.L Caulder and James Caulder.
A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday 10/5/2020 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Officiating will be Pastor Prentis Harris, III.
Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 609 Trail Two, Burlington, NC 27215.
