Maggie S. Lowe
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Magnolia Sharpe Lowe, age 90, of 2985 Elder Lane, passed away Friday, March 7, 2008, at Edgewood Place.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Benjamin Theodore Lowe and daughter of the late Johnny Brackett and Bessie May Sharpe. She was a homemaker and member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Benny Ray Lowe and wife, Brenda, Robert L. Lowe and wife, Barbara, all of Liberty and William Dexter Lowe Sr. and wife, Nancy, of Burlington; daughters, Shirley Conklin of Laurinburg, Patsy Shambley and husband, Larry, of Aiken, S.C., Sue Brooks of Burlington, Bonnie Lowe of the home, Sylvia McCormick and husband, Don, of Burlington, Rhonda Branham and husband, Michael, of Liberty and Priscilla L. Townsend of Liberty; 23 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and eight greatgreat-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Shoffner of Burlington and Gloria Sharpe of Alamance.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Johnny Allen Lowe; sisters, Betty Sharpe, Emma Wellons and Blondie Sharpe; and brothers, William Haskel Sharpe and J.B. Sharpe Jr.; and two grandchildren, Robert Lee Lowe Jr. and Melissa Shambley.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2008, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Howard Thompson. Interment will follow in Friendship United Methodist Church cemetery. Mrs. Lowe will remain at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory through the funeral service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and at other times at the home of Sylvia and Don McCormick, 2927 Elder Lane, Burlington (Village of Alamance).
