Jess Taylor Patterson Sr.
BURLINGTON — Mr. Jess Taylor Patterson Sr., 73, of 4201 Friendship-Patterson Mill Road, died at his residence on Saturday, June 18, 2011, at 1:15 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Anne Farrell Patterson, who survives, and the son of Dean Eusebius Patterson and Mary Taylor Patterson, both deceased. He was a graduate of E.M. Holt and attended Elon University and Pfeiffer University, where he played on the first soccer team. He was former President of Dean Patterson Construction Company.
In addition to his wife, of the home, survivors include two sons, Jess Taylor Patterson Jr. and wife, Cyndi, of Alamance and William Ward Patterson and wife, Lori, of Burlington; two stepchildren, Malissa Anne Kirkpatrick and G.H. “Tripp” Kirkpatrick III and wife, Teresa, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Jess Taylor Patterson III, Allyson Patterson, Grace Patterson, Emma Patterson, Caroline Patterson, Owen Patterson, Graham Kirkpatrick, Jacy Kirkpatrick and Shea Kirkpatrick; two sisters, Carey Patterson Montague and husband, John, of Burlington, and Elizabeth Patterson Crisp and husband, John, of Yorktown, Va.; and brother, Caswell Dean Patterson of Florence, Ore.
A graveside service will be conducted at Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 6 p.m. by the Rev. Mike Mitchener with the family receiving friends in the church fellowship hall from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, 4612 Friendship Patterson Mill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
