John Edward “Chuck” Crisp
YORKTOWN,Va. — Chuck Crisp passed away on Feb. 3, 2013. He was born on Feb. 3, 1943 in Judson, N.C. Chuck was a longtime resident of the Peninsula and was employed with the Newport News Shipyard for 43 years, where he was a master shipbuilder.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Ethel Crisp.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betsy” Crisp of Yorktown; children, John Edward “Chuckie” Crisp of Williamsburg, Stacey Smart of Richmond, Scott Smart of Cary, N.C.; sisters, Glenda Maney, Marion Fortner, and Nancy Crisp of Bryon City, N.C.; and his grandchildren, Ashley and Ryan Crisp of Williamsburg.
A memorial service of Praise and Resurrection will be held at 11 a.m., Sat., Feb. 16 at St. Luke’s UMC, 300 Ella Taylor Rd., Yorktown, VA.
