Opal B. Thompson Isley
   SNOW CAMP — Mrs. Opal B. Thompson Isley, age 91, went home to be with her heavenly father and her dear husband, H. Wake Isley, on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.

   A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Elsie Allen Thompson. Opal graduated from Sylvan High School in Snow Camp and attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia. She was of the Quaker faith and a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of the United Methodist Women as well as other church groups. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flower gardening and was a member of the Alamance County Garden Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and greatgrandmother.

   She is survived by her daughters,PhyllisI.Tildenand her husband Jack of Roanoke, Va., Iris I. Pope and her husband Charles of Apex, N.C., and Patricia I. Johnson and her husband Terry of Snow Camp; sons, Henry Isley and his wife Pam of Creedmoor, N.C., Mike Isley and his wife Connie of Snow Camp, Jake Isley and his wife Martha of Bullock, N.C. and Chris Isley of Snow Camp; 15 grandchildren; and three great- grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Cora Lee T. Gibson of Snow Camp.

   She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and sisters, Christine T. McPherson , Mabel T. Graves of Snow Camp, Louise T. Stout of South Carolina, Betty T. Pollock of New Jersey and Joanna T. Irwin of Burlington; brothers, Hugh Thompson of Snow Camp and Russell Thompson of Burlington.

   The funeral service to celebrate her life will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Friendship United Methodist Church with the Rev. Henry Swansea and the Rev. Alvin M. Horne officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery.

   The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and in the Fellowship Hall of the church after the committal service.
