Rachel Hornaday Hinshaw
Rachel Hornaday Hinshaw, 86, of Bridgewater, Va., passed away November 4, 2013.
Mrs. Hinshaw was born in Snow Camp, NC, on May 29, 1927. She was the daughter of the late Roy Zelle Hornaday and Georgia Isley Hornaday.
Mrs. Hinshaw was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. An accomplished musician, Mrs. Hinshaw was church organist for over 20 years in the United Methodist Church. She was a consummate homemaker, a wonderful cook and an avid crafter.
Mrs. Hinshaw is survived by two sons, William M. Hinshaw and wife Connie of Macon, Ga., and Randall H. Hinshaw and wife Linda of Harrisonburg, Va.; a brother Roy Zelle (Bud) Hornaday Jr.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hinshaw was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William E. (Bill) Hinshaw, whom she married on November 4, 1944. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Virginia H. Hill, Dorothy
H. Wilkins, and Emily H. Wright; and great-grandson Levi Aaron Eberly.
A service in Mrs. Hinshaw’s memory will be held at Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Liberty, NC at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 29, 2013. In lieu of fl owers, memorial contributions may be made to your local Hospice organization. 3, Rachel Hornaday Hinshaw
