Ben W. Graves
BURLINGTON — Mr. Ben W. Graves, 85, of 420 Alamance Road, Burlington, died Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 5:20 p.m. after a sudden illness.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of the late Jessie O. Graves and the son of Joel S. Graves and Bertha Smith Graves, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II. He retired as a Quality Control Manager with 45 years of service with Kayser-Roth. He was a member of Alamance Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons, Mr. Danny Lee Graves and wife, Sherry, of Burlington, and Mr. William Mark Graves and wife, Janice, of Harrisburg; one sister, Mrs. Nell Mooney of Burlington; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at Alamance Memorial Park on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. James A. Lockley.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m., and at other times they will be at the residence.
