Obituary Online notes for Lake Alverta HOLDEN
Lake Holden Graves, 94, of Liberty passed away on Monday, October 24, 2011 at her home.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Chuck Halipilias; burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
She was the daughter of the late Algenon Porter and Maude Jeanette Hines Holden and was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Joel Wake Graves, one grandson, Scotty Overman and four sisters, Margaret Smith, Louise Shoffner, Edith Murray and Helen Phillippie.
Lake is survived by her two daughters, Jo Graves Overman and husband, Larry "Bud" of Liberty and Reba Graves McPherson and husband, Keith of Raleigh; two sisters, Marion Murray and Betty Layton, both of Liberty; four grandchildren, Sandy O. Staley, Steven Overman, Jeremy McPherson and Jacob McPherson, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
