WHITSETT — Mr. Bobby Lee Freeman, 79, of Whitsett died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Thursday, June 11, 2015.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Shirley C. Freeman, who survives and the son of Leonard S. Freeman and Ruth Nash Freeman, both deceased. He was owner and operator of a grading and hauling company. Bobby was a board member of the Whitsett Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Whitsett Ruritan Club. He was an avid golfer and always enjoyed playing in the Hospice League Golf Tournament. He was a member of the First Wesleyan Church of Burlington.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Bonny F. Dabbs and husband Mark and Rosanna Freeman, all of Burlington; grandson, Heath B. Hancock and wife Brooke of Kernersville; great-granddaughter, Paityn Hancock; sister, Betty Ham and husband Danny of Graham; and brother, Charles Freeman and wife Mary Jane of Burlington.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam Freeman, James Freeman and Eddie Freeman and sister, Jerline Wilson.
The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Monday, June 15, 2015 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Dennis Boone and the Rev. Buck Garrison. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
