BURLINGTON — Mr. Rufus Roy Windsor, 85, of 791 Boone Station Drive, Burlington died at Liberty Commons on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 3:34 p.m. following one year of failing health.
A native of Rockingham County, he was the son of John Robert Windsor and Hattie Robena Campbell Windsor, both deceased.
Survivors include three nieces, Carolyn Maxwell and husband Tom of Burlington, Pam Brown and husband Shelton of Graham and Lisa Thomas and husband John of Elon; two nephews, Chester "Buddy" Tate and wife Florence of Burlington and Don Windsor and wife Sue of Mebane; and many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jimmy, Willie, Dan and Lee Windsor; and one sister, Lillie Mae Windsor Tate.
A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Friday, May 22, 2009 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Mike Miller.
The family will receive friends at 325 Spring Valley Drive, Burlington, NC 27217.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Hospice and Palliative Care and at Liberty Commons.
