BURLINGTON — Larry Selden Jordan, 75, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Duke Medical Center, surrounded by his family, after several years of failing health.

He was born in Alamance County, on May 12, 1939, to the late Conrad Homer “Bo” Jordan and the late Opal Whitesell Jordan and was the husband of JoAnn Rowland Jordan, who survives, for 53 years.

Selden retired from Eldon Specialties. He was the president of Machine and Manufacturing Company from 1970 to 1991 and was a former employee with The Burlington Flying Service. Selden enjoyed volunteering with Hospice, going fishing, gambling, and entering his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air in car shows and driving in parades. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, JoAnn, include his daughters, Joanna J. Burton and husband Derrick, Tina J. Tadros and fiancé Anthony “Gypsy” Wheeler; granddaughter, Madison Jordan Tadros, whom he adored; stepgranddaughters, Christina Gross and Elizabeth Burton; great-stepgranddaughter, Amelia Gross; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Jack Bradley; nieces and spouses, Vickie and Wayne Rich, Nancy and Steve Durek; nephew and spouse, Richard and Laurie Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Curtis Jordan.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015, in the Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. David Ealy, with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. and at other times at the home.
