Joe  J. Morene 
    SAVANNAH, Ga. — Joe  J. Morene , 75, of Savannah, died Nov. 7, 2005, at Hospice of Savannah after a long illness. He was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
    He was born in Alamance County, North Carolina. He was a professional truck driver for more than 40 years and retired from Food Carrier Transportation in 1985. He was a dedicated Christian, member of Central Baptist Church in Garden City, where he served faithfully in the choir and on the telephone outreach committee. He was an inspiration to many because of his unending smile, cheerful attitude, faithful work, and his faith in God, even during his illness.
    He was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Margaret Morene  of Savannah; his parents, Lewis Sr. and Lula Morene  of Gibsonville; two brothers, Lewis Morene  Jr. of Greensboro and Henry Morene  of Gibsonville.
    He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Morene  of Savannah; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, William and Frankie Pearce of Savannah; a brother, Howard Morene  of Lakeland, Fla.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Lorene Morene  of Gibsonville, Jerry and Melinda Morene  of Winston-Salem; sister, Wanda Brown of Greensboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Verna and Robert Flowers of Durham, Decala and Gary Pike of Burlington; sisters-in law, Marie Bailey of Raleigh and Alice Deaver of Bladenboro, N.C.; sister-inlaw and brother-in-law, Faye and Ronnie Nelms of Benson, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
    The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 10, 2005, at Central Baptist Church in Garden City with the Rev. Kenny Harrelson officiating. Burial will be in Westside Memorial Garden in Bloomingdale.
