GRAHAM — Joyce “Elaine” Norwood Smith, 67, of 18 Cates Circle, Apt. A, Graham, N.C. 27253, died January 31, 2010 at 2:15 a.m., at the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields.
She is survived by her husband, Washington C. Smith Jr. of the home; daughters, Susan Norwood Justice Scott and husband Robert of Burlington, N.C., Shannon Denise Smith of Graham, N.C., and Pamela Bare Uthus and fiancé Tom of Burlington, N.C.; son, Ricky Norris Bare of South Carolina; stepson, Dolan Smith of Florida; stepdaughter, Jeanie Billings of Maryland; brother, Bruce Norwood and wife Debra of Burlington, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward A. Norwood and Aurtney Watkins Norwood; brother, Edward Norwood; grandchild, Baby Boy Allison.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Mc-Clure Chapel in Graham, N.C., by Dr. Eugene Hunsinger. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at McClure Funeral Home in Graham at other times at the residence of Susan Scott, 2472 Weldon Cobb Tr., Burlington, N.C.
