SAVANNAH - William (Bill) Herbert Pearce, Jr., 66 years old of Savannah, Georgia entered into eternal rest with His Lord Jesus on March 12, 2015 at Candler Hospital.
Bill was born March 22, 1948 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Herbert Pearce Sr. and Margaret Starling Morene. He was married to Frankie Oliver Pearce. They were married February 13, 2001 and spent 14 years together. Bill served in the U. S. Army and was a Clerk Typist while serving in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal. After leaving the Army he worked as a truck driver and game manager for James E. Strates Shows - Carnival Midway; a newspaper carrier for the Savannah Morning News and Savannah Evening Press; Manager at Pizza Hut on Whitemarsh Island, and as a cab driver for Yellow Cab. He was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church at the time of his death. He had been a member of Magnolia Baptist Church (New Vision) where he accepted Jesus as his Savior and was baptized. He loved people and loved to talk. He had a wicked sense of humor and loved life, his wife Frankie, and his family.
Bill is survived by his wife, Frankie Oliver Pearce, sister, Cheryl Morene, Mother in Law, Betty Oliver, (all of Savannah, Georgia) two aunts, Faye (Ronnie) Nelms, Benson, North Carolina, and Marie Bailey, Raleigh, North Carolina, sister- in-law, Linda Martin (Pat) Oregon, Brenda Hubbert (M) Coosawhatchie, SC, Susan Elmore (Greg) Brunswick, Georgia and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, March 16, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City, Georgia. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Silk Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Jonathan Phillips presiding. Interment will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday March 18, 2015 in Beaufort National Cemetery in Beaufort, South Carolina.
