MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Robert Ward Flowers , 64, of Kings Road, and formerly of Greensboro, walked into eternity on Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Waccamaw Community Hospital in Murrells Inlet, S.C.

He was born in Wayne County, son of the late Robert Lee and Margaret Ada Raynor Flowers , and was married to Verna Morene Flowers , who survives.

Robert was formerly employed by AC Corporation in Greensboro and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by his wife of the home; daughters and sons in-law, Susan and Weston Triplett of Granite Falls, Melanie Flowers of Statesville, Terry and Rich Burnap of Williamsburg, Va., and Janet and Bart Fuller of Kansas City, Mo.; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Amy Anderson of Mebane; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Brunetta Bradshaw of Faison, and Patty Davis of LaGrange; and a brother, Jimmy Flowers of Faison.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Alamance Memorial Park by the Rev. Billy Morene, brotherin-law.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and at other times at the son’s home, Rick Anderson, 1010 Pleasant Drive, Mebane.
