BURLINGTON—Mr. PaulS. Wall, 86, of 1415 Keogh Street, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, after one year of declining health.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Mildred Johnson Wall, who survives, and the son of John Watt Wall and Ethel Sands Wall, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired fromVocational Trades of Alamance. He was also a volunteer with Hospice. Paul was a handyman and loved working in the garden. He was known as the “Tomato Man” for his home grown tomatoes. He was a very active member of Faith United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Gene Wall and wife Jo Ann and Tony Wall and wife Janie, all of Burlington; three grandsons, Jason Wall and wife Donna of Monroe, Stuart Wall and wife Vickie of Midland and Dylan Faulkner of Burlington; a great-granddaughter, Paige Grace Wall of Monroe; two step-granddaughters, Lauren Anthony and Wendy Smith and husband Shannon, all of Burlington; two great-stepgranddaughters, Calli Rabon and Hannah Smith, both of Burlington; a great-stepgrandson, Landon Smith of Burlington; and two sisters, Edna Coble of Burlington and Peggy Gregory of Graham.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terry C. Wall; nine brothers and four sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at 11 a.m. by Pastor Todd Martin and the Rev. William “Bud” Budzinski. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
