Vicky Johnson Marks Brinkley, age 64, of 1522 North NC 87 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 20, 2006 after two years of failing health.
She was the wife of Jerry Ed Brinkley who survives and a native of Alamance County.
Vicky was employed for many years at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and served the Lord for over 30 years as a church pianist in several area churches. Vicky loved to sing and play gospel music and share Christ's love with others. She demonstrated Gods amazing grace over the past several months during her illness.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Ed Brinkley of the home; daughters, Angela Marks Griffin and her husband, Doug and Jennifer Marks Rudd and her husband, Shawn all of Graham; step daughters, Patrice Neighbors and her husband, Wiley of Burlington, Teresa Merner and her husband, Don of Gibsonville, Kathy Brinkley of Elon; step son, Eddie Brinkley and his wife, Jill of Burlington; grandchildren, Rebecca Griffin, Clifton Griffin, Leah Rudd and Logan Ann Rudd; step grandchildren, Stephanie Welch, Jimmy Welch and Claire Brinkley; step great grandchildren, Shane and Layla Welch; sisters and brother-in-law, Joan Tate of Burlington, Mildred and Paul Wall of Burlington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wesley and Joretta Johnson and Buck and Betsy Johnson all of Burlington.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Jim Crawford Marks; parents, Howard Joseph and Wonnie Baker Johnson and brother, Howard Joseph "Johnny" Johnson, Jr.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church by Rev. Randy Hobbs and Rev. Felton Massey. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and other times at the home.
